A complete Sand Point Way

Moving beyond the old state highway mindset and building a safer corridor for everyone in Northeast Seattle.

About Beyond SR 513

Beyond SR 513 is a volunteer-led advocacy effort started by residents of northeast Seattle who walk, bike, and take the bus along Sand Point Way NE. The initiative was convened through the Northeast Safe Streets and Lake City Streets Alliance, part of the Seattle Streets Alliance.

SR 513 was the state highway designation for this road until the portion from I-5 to Magnuson Park was transferred back to the city. The name of our group is a reminder that the road design can move beyond its highway-era design.

We aim to work with the Seattle Department of Transportation, Seattle City Councilmembers, and community organizations to advocate for safe, walkable, and bike-accessible streets along this corridor.

Mission Statement

The group aims to work collaboratively with the Seattle Department of Transportation, city council representatives, and local organizations to promote safe, walkable, and bike-accessible streets along Sand Point Way.
